JOB SUMMARY: The CNC Programmer develops, writes, and improves new or existing CNC programs for various products.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develops and writes CNC programs for a variety of parts and assemblies.
2. Performs CNC machine setups, including specifying tooling and designing or adapting fixtures as needed.
3. Sets up and operates CNC machine in accordance with operations sheets, programs, blueprints and setup sheets.
4. Uses precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, protractors, depth gauges, and dial indicators to ensure accurate setups and finished work.
5. Inspects work to ensure it meets specifications. 6. Uses various Computer Aided Drafting/Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems, including 2D and 3D models for programming and drafting work.
7. Works with our current Business System to pull and release jobs to the manufacturing floor.
8. Queries business systems for design and process data.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: Associates degree in CNC Programming or equivalent experience.
2. Experience: Must successfully pass the Programming test.
3. Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, tooling, fixturing, and general shop practices. Ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and use measuring tools. Proficient with email, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet use. Comfortable using office equipment such as copiers and fax machines. Familiar with or able to learn business systems and related data entry. Ability to create setup sheets for the shop using drafting tools or software.
