JOB SUMMARY: The Flame Cut Operator operates flame cutting machinery to accurately cut materials according to engineering drawings, work orders, and product specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operates flame cutting machinery to cut metal parts to specified dimensions and tolerances, following engineering drawings and job orders.
- Performs routine equipment setup, adjustments, and maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Inspects finished parts for quality and accuracy, reporting any deviations or issues to supervisors.
- Collaborates with production and engineering teams to meet project schedules and production targets.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area, following all safety protocols, and assists with inventory management and material handling as needed.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support lean manufacturing practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience operating flame cutting or other metal fabrication equipment is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Skills: Involves moderate intellectual effort, including reading and interpreting technical drawings, understanding cutting specifications, making adjustments to equipment, and identifying potential quality or safety issues. Requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Requirements: Operator must work in a safe manner and must have a safe work record. Safety must be the first and foremost concern as these machines are capable of great bodily harm.
