JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for painting metal parts and assemblies in an industrial environment, ensuring they meet quality standards before being shipped to customers. This role also assists with shipping and inventory tasks, contributing to the efficiency and organization of our production process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, priming, or using other methods to ensure proper paint adhesion.
  2. Apply industrial coatings and finishes to metal parts and assemblies using spray equipment, brushes, or rollers.
  3. Ensure a smooth, durable, and consistent finish while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  4. Mask areas that should not be painted and take necessary precautions to protect surrounding surfaces.
  5. Maintain, clean, and inspect painting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  6. Follow all safety protocols while handling paints, chemicals, and operating equipment.
  7. Work with the lead on larger or more complex parts and assemblies when necessary.
  8. Assist with packaging and preparing painted parts and assemblies for shipment to customers.
  9. Ensure products are carefully packed to prevent damage during transport, including proper labeling and documentation.
  10. Verify shipment details to ensure orders are accurate and shipped on time.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized shipping area to promote efficiency and order fulfillment.
  12. Assist the inventory clerk with tracking and organizing materials, parts, and supplies.
  13. Perform regular inventory counts and ensure that stock levels are updated accurately.
  14. Help manage stock rotation to ensure materials are used in a timely manner.
  15. Ensure all parts and materials are stored properly and easily accessible for production use.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Previous experience in industrial painting, preferably in a manufacturing or metalworking environment. Familiarity with inventory software or basic warehouse operations. Experience working with metal parts or in an industrial warehouse setting is desirable. Shipping or inventory management experience is a plus.

Skills: Basic knowledge of industrial coatings, tools, and techniques, including spray painting, sanding, and priming. Understanding of safety protocols in an industrial setting and ability to work with chemicals and painting equipment safely. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on productivity and efficiency. Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working in varying conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily in an industrial setting, including areas with machinery and equipment used for painting metal parts. This role requires physical activity, including lifting and standing for extended periods, as well as handling chemicals and using spray equipment. Adherence to safety guidelines is essential.
