Job Description
The Form Welder is responsible for Welding and Assembling concrete Pipe Forms.
Job Functions
- Lays outs, cuts and drills stock from Blueprints or Verbal instructions
- Cuts, rolls and or breaks piece parts to required dimensions and shapes
- Assembles parts and helps in welding in place and finishes by grinding welds smooth
- Work between two crews if needed
- Transports parts to designated area
- Form Welder will be required to do other jobs in the department at or below their job grade
General Infromation
The Form Welder helps in Fabrication of Cones, Hoppers, Riser Forms, Base Forms, Horizontal and Vertical Flares, Box Culverts and etc. Must have knowledge of parts and Blueprint layouts. Cutting all parts to 1/16” required. Performs other Duties as required
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One-year shop experience.
Skills: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair and maintenance. The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull and carry objects. The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, forming, positioning, and moving materials or in manipulating things such as hand tools and hoist.
Requirements: Operator must work in a safe manner and must have a safe work record. Safety must be the first and foremost concern as these machines are capable of great bodily harm.
Work Environment
Hoists and lifting devices are available at each shop workstation to use for lifting and maneuvering parts.
