Alpena, Michigan Provides Excellent Backdrop for Customer Training

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a large group of customers in Alpena, Michigan for the WCCT's Blockmakers Executive Session.
The Executive Session is a condensed version of the Concrete Masonry Technology and Vibrapac® Blockmakers Workshops® tailored to upper management. New products, programs and current issues are discussed in a round-table format with industry executives and professionals. (See wcct.net for more details!) The class schedule included Leadership training, an intro to concrete technology, aggregate blending, absolute volume method, Besser equipment overview, costing discussions, an in-plant block manufacturing class, facility tours, and an Operations "Boot Camp." It was a busy three days for this group, which included leadership from Oldcastle, Jewell and Anchor Block Company (both Oldcastle companies), Basalite Concrete Products, Modular Masonry, BioMASON, DEXX, and Robert Ober & Associates, LLC.
For after-hours events, the group explored the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, complete with a rooftop dinner catered by JJ's Catering and Rental. They also participated in a laser-tag session at Laser Team Challenge. The graduation dinner was held at John A. Lau Saloon.
We're fortunate that our small community provides such a beautiful and fun backdrop for training! Check out wcct.net/training to see if we have any training opportunities left in 2017 that you'd like to join.
