Jerrycowden 350 454 90
Assisting pipe producers, by expanding the availability of support services to improve plant productivity and pipe quality, is a major focus for Besser Company. Jerry Cowden, sales consultant, and Scott Kennedy, longtime Besser technical service consultant, will concentrate their efforts on assisting producers who are realizing increased demand for limited capacity while hiring new employees and transitioning staff to new positions. Jerry, an industry veteran and former Chairman of the American Concrete Pipe Association, brings more than 25 years of experience working for a progressive pipe producer in the western United States to his role as sales consultant.  His first hand, in-depth knowledge of pipe production extends from plant floor equipment installation, maintenance and operations to executive management. Jerry’s hands-on experience will prove beneficial to producers exploring ways to improve plant processes and adopt best practices. He will use his skills to assess current equipment and train plant staff on the proper operation of their production equipment. He’ll rely on knowledge of the Besser pipe equipment and curing systems, equipment enhancements and conversions and parts for pipe production equipment for making recommendations for short and long term plant changes. Jerry is based in California but responsible for customer service and sales throughout North America.  He can be contacted at +1.951.538.0781 or jcowden@besser.com. Scott Kennedy grew up in the business working at his family’s pipe plant. Since that he’s gained a wealth of knowledge of pipe production and equipment from his firsthand experiences in a variety of plants around the globe. His main focus is assisting producers by installing equipment, conducting plant assessments, providing technical service, recommending appropriate parts, equipment enhancements and conversions as well as providing onsite training. Scott is a seasoned instructor who has conducted in-plant sessions for producers worldwide.  Customized, in-plant training allows employees to gain hands-on experience directly related to their equipment.  He also shares his knowledge with producers as an instructor during the American Concrete Pipe Association’s Annual Pipe School, held in conjunction with The Precast Show.  Scott lives in North Carolina and can be reached at +1.980.621.6074 or skennedy@besser.com.
