Besser Gives Back

For Besser, the communities in which we live and work and raise our children have become increasing important for us to support. We want our future workforce to be filled with creative minds and positive thinkers in order to ensure the company's continued success and longevity. We know that this means we must help shape and support our local communities in any way we can. Brian Budnik, Director of Molds, developed a plan to recognize and honor schools, military divisions, law enforcement agencies, and other special groups by flying their individualized flags to demonstrate our support.
The first flags being flown represent the Alpena High School and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program. DARE, founded in 1983 as an international substance abuse education program, seeks to prevent use of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol among youth. Eleven DARE role models (also seniors at the Alpena High School), joined Officer Tim Marquardt, Alpena High School Liaison and DARE officer, and Romeo Bourdage, Assistant Principal at Alpena High School, to help raise the two new flags at our facility. Brian presented Officer Marquardt with a monetary donation for the DARE program before heading outside with the entire group to raise the flags. Besser fully supports the mission and vision of DARE and is proud to now have an impactful visual for the community to see as they drive down Johnson Street.
