When it comes to keeping your block or pipe production lines running smoothly, small components can make a significant impact. Two parts that often fly under the radar—but can cause problems when neglected— wear plates. 

Cubers: Are Your Wear Plates Worn? 

Wear plates tend to be “out of sight, out of mind,” but ignoring them can be costly. If you’re seeing: 

• An increase in chipped units during cubing 

…it’s likely that worn wear plates are to blame. 

Check your wear plates today and compare their condition against the tolerances in your operations manual. If they’re out of spec, it’s time to replace them. A quick inspection now can improve the quality of your production and reduce your scrap rate.

Pipe Machines: Are Your Trowel Plates Causing Issues? 

Worn trowel plates can affect the internal dimensions of your pipe, leading to quality issues. Keep production on target by routinely measuring the width of your Longbottom and verifying it’s within the recommended range.
