Getting to Know Your Customer Service Representative: Amanda Kramer

A familiar English proverb says, “Everything happens for a reason.” Amanda Kramer, Customer Service Representative, knows that to be true. Her position at Besser is the result of a friendship she developed at church. Before retiring from Besser, Jeannie Johnson, Customer Service Representative, prayed that her customers would continue to receive excellent service when she left. At the same time she was praying that Amanda would find a career better suited to her skills. Quickly she realized that Amanda, with her engaging people skills, inquisitive nature and work experience, doing everything from graphic design to real estate sales, would be perfect for the job! Amanda visited Jeannie on the job, liked what she saw and submitted her resume. Just over a year ago Amanda’s began her career as the Customer Service Representative for custom industrial castings and Ni-Hard. She’s a natural at it, building relationships with customers is what she likes most about her job. Every day she finds it gratifying to have the opportunity to provide assistance to those ordering parts essential to their business. As the point person for these unique product lines she often plays the role of “go between” relaying questions and answers between customers and the insightful foundry staff.  Each encounter provides her with additional knowledge that builds upon what she learned during the metal casting class she attended. “There’s a lot of knowledge and skill that goes into pouring quality castings, it’s not just pouring hot metal into a form,” commented Amanda. Many of the castings Besser pours are critical components of the products they go into. Having a well-trained, seasoned team who has experience pouring simple and complex forms gives her tremendous comfort when quoting and selling products. In the future Amanda is looking forward to building her knowledge base by visiting customer locations and taking a class about metal failures. Outside of work Amanda gets boundless joy from her daughter Grace who is almost 4 years old. They enjoy spending time together outdoors exploring the trails and fishing in a river at nearby Ledges State Park. Grace brightens Amanda’s world and she pays it forward by brightening the world of Besser customers with efficient and friendly service.
