Getting to Know Your Customer Service Representative: Dave Miller

“I never think of my work at Besser as a job. I'm here because it's what I like to do,” expressed Dave Miller, Product Specialist for Molds. Dave prides himself on delivering the same level of customer service he likes to receive when he’s the customer. Working in the industry for as long as he has, Dave knows that producers have options when it comes to choosing a supplier. Giving them as many reasons as possible to choose Besser is his top priority.
Dave uses his 16 years of accumulated experience working in inventory control, manufacturing, and warranty management to assist our customers in a confident and knowledgeable way. As the product specialist for molds, he’s able to quickly respond to whatever questions come his way, be it a simple, “What should the torque be on the stripper shoe bolts?” or a more complex, “Can you help me determine what parts I need to produce this new unit?” Being able to offer sound advice and direction is what ultimately puts a smile on Dave’s face when he leaves work each day.
Providing personal assistance to those with and without experience working in a plant - from assisting with an annual mold parts order to recommending essential parts to have on hand to collaborating on the design of a new mold box - is what Dave does best. He visualizes himself as a safety net, ensuring that our customers are getting the exact high quality molds and parts they need, when they need them in order to avoid any unnecessary delay in production.
Dave is a second generation Besser employee (his dad Melvin retired from our Alpena manufacturing team). Alpena natives, he and his wife Colleen have a daughter Desiree who attends Ferris State University. The Miller family enjoys the laid back lifestyle that Northern Michigan offers and loves to spend time in the great outdoors. When they’re not relaxing at their hunting camp, Dave can be found woodworking in his free time.
