Members of the Masonry/Hardscape/Paver Industry Energizes San Antonio

Judging by all accounts the second ICON-Xchange was a resounding success. Producers and suppliers alike found the day and a half of pre-scheduled business-to-business (B2B) meetings extremely valuable and productive. The number of companies represented along with attendees participating in both the B2B and Marketplace grew significantly from last year.
During the B2Bs, and the National Concrete Masonry Association and Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute meetings, the Besser Team spent time learning about individual producer’s specific needs and challenges and provided them with various solutions. Producers expressed a lot of interest in the benefits of our new Advanced Servo Vibration and Servo Main Drive upgrades for Besser cam operated machines. They were also anxious to hear about how the Servopacs are performing in the field. The versatility of the Servopac was driven home with 1” tall slab units produced in Israel and a unit replicating cast stone made in Tennessee. Another popular topic was the growing need for training for new and existing staff. We’re currently addressing all of the action items that were discussed in the B2B sessions and other meetings.
Networking is the central element of the ICON-Xchange concept. There were numerous opportunities to interact with fellow industry members during receptions, lunches and in the Marketplace. Each association tackled aggressive agendas to generate the strategies and ideas necessary to move the industry forward. Highlights of each association’s meetings, including award presentations, the Segmental Retaining Wall (SRW) anniversary celebration and an update on the Check Off Program can be found the association’s websites, ncma.org and icpi.org.
